For many years now GVGS students have participated in the ICAS competitions. ICAS is an independent skill-based assessment which tests a variety of subjects for primary and secondary school students. The test assesses skills and learning abilities and this year 980,000 entries were received from across Australia. Medals are awarded to the individual student from a year level who achieves the top score in the state for a subject. Through their hard work and commitment to learning 5 GVGS students were awarded an ICAS medal at the official presentation ceremony in Melbourne on Saturday, November 23. This is a record achievement by our students. It should be noted of the 8 writing medals awarded to Victorian participants for the ICAS Writing competition, 4 of them were presented to GVGS students. It is also the second time Year 10 student Cliona Ingram has been presented with the ICAS Writing medal having received one in 2018.
